Do you worry about the economy?
Are you in danger of losing your job? Or maybe you are one of the millions of people already unemployed. Are you struggling to pay your bills and your mortgage? Are you in real danger of losing your house? Maybe you are already in foreclosure. Where does you future lie? What hope do you have?
Do you think about what all this "national debt" is really all about? Does it scare you to think that the American government is spending TRILLIONS of dollars, all of it your taxpayer money? Where will it all end? Perhaps you are afraid of a full ecomomic collapse that would be far more horrendous than the great depression after the stock market crash in 1929. Afterall, the government is printing money that the national treasury does not have. Our President and Congress are authorizing our country to operate on "cold checks."
If you or I write checks on an account that contains no money, those checks "bounce" and there is a day of reckoning for us.
It will be the same for the United States government!
Whether that day comes sooner or later is a matter of debate but few argue against the notion that our economic chickens will come home to roost. In fact, many economists and financial experts say they already have.
And the government is making it worse by unleashing this mind-boggling spending spree!
But perhaps you believe the new administration in Washington will somehow rescue our banks, our housing industry, our our auto industry, our healthcare system, our social security, our general way of life.
But will they? And how?
Can any politician actually be entrusted with so much? Can any political party be so knowledgeable that they now suddenly have all the answers? Afterall, the Democrats have had control of Congress the last two years so aren't they as much a part of the problem as anyone? And Republicans don't have the answers either: they have been in control of the Executive Branch the last eight years.
So where do you put your hope?
Surely mere men - politicans at that - can't be trusted to resolve all these issues!
Where does that leave us? In a hopeless downward spiral of economic ruin, socialism, and utter misery?
Take heart, friend, The Holy Bible has the answers!
Did you know that the Apostle Paul spoke of these dire circumstances?
"But know this: difficult times will come in the last days." (2 Timothy 3:1, CSB)
Would you say we are living in "difficult times" right now?
The problems facing our world are unprecedented in recorded history!
Our economic mess is overshawdowed only by the threat of horriffic acts of terror by radical Islamic extremists or maniacal dictators.
Some believe our earth is undergoing drastic climate changes that will forever change its landscape - and human life. Our weather is out of control but we are powerless to stop the violent storms and tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and blizzards that ravage our homes and very way of life.
Famine grips many countries of the world while wars and violence of all kinds dominate news headlines across the globe.
False hope springs eternal yet many find disillusionment - some even death - at the hands of those who can glibly deceive multitudes.
But Jesus Himself told us these things were coming!
". . .Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:4-8, KJV)
Furthermore, Jesus said some 2000 years ago that, miserable as we are in our pathetic little lives, we would cling to some semblance of normalcy no matter what.
"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man: people went on eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: people went on eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building. But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be like that on the day the Son of Man will be revealed. On that day, a man on the housetop, whose belongings are in the house, must not come down to get them. Likewise the man who is in the field must not turn back. Remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to make His life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. . . ." (Luke 17:26-33, CSB)
Jesus said that in the last days we will be going on about our daily lives oblivious to the fact that His return is imminent!
And did you catch that? Jesus warned, "Remember Lot's Wife!"

Remember Lot's Wife
Author Kathy S. McBride has done a masterful job of weaving the tale of Lot and his [unnamed] wife from the time of the destruction of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorroh to our present day. And the author vividly brings out the true importance of just exactly why Jesus did warn us to remember her.
And it's all done in a "talk to you" easy-to-read style. Here's a sampling:
"Good question. Afterall, who wouldn't look? How many in mortal flesh under that or similar situation wouldn't want to sneak a peek at such a spectacular supernatural event? All of us are natural "ambulance chasers" at heart. Not one of us can resist gawking at the scene of an accident or perking up our ears like an alert dog at the sound of wailing sirens. And it's not every day that fire and brimstone fall from heaven as raindrops, you know. It was certainly something to see all right but the angel of the Lord forbade it. . . ." Now, here are a few personal words from the author herself, Kathy S. McBride:
"Friends and fellow believers, it is a privilege for me to offer my book for sale to you on Amazon.com. It truly is a humbling experience to know that I have the supreme honor of representing the Lord Jesus Christ through the written word.
"Writing Remember Lot's Wife: What Jesus Taught About the End of the World was a learning process for me, and I hope it will be for you as well. Dear reader, as you turn the pages of my book, I only ask that you seek the wisdom and guidance of The Holy Spirit for the words I put there were His, not my own. I felt led and convicted to write this book, to use those passages of scriptures, to frame those long lost biblical truths into a theme that would speak to the hearts and minds of God's people today. No matter where you walk now, it is my heart's longing that you, too, will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through His death on the cross.
"No pen can write nor human mind can think of the agonies He endured for the likes of us, yet He suffered such shame and humility for each and every one. He died for ME, knowing full well the miserable wretch I am! Praises to His Holy Name!
"While my book has been widely well-received, I would be remiss if I failed to tell you that some have [and will] find it offensive or perhaps even trivial. I have only to say that I'm sorry for all who have such closed minds that they cannot grasp a concept that is different from what they have always been taught. Had I kept to the beaten path myself, I would neither have my current knowledge nor be where I am today. Dear readers, never forget that "knowledge is power" and there is no more power than what is found in the shed blood of Christ and that revealed in His Word!
"You may believe or you may scoff but it matters not to me either way. I have done what I felt compelled to do by The Holy Spirit and that was write Remember Lot's Wife. You may do with it as you wish but that is on you: my conscience is clear having followed the dictates of my Lord. By simple obedience to The Holy Spirit, I committed to paper the convictions laid on my heart. He asked nothing of me but to obey, and He promised me nothing in return for my compliance. I simply did as He asked. I have no regrets and certainly make no apologies for Remember Lot's Wife.
"When my time on this earth has ended, some may remember me as the person who wrote that book; but I wish to be remembered as the person who so loved her Lord that she willingly wrote that book out of the conviction that He wanted her to write it!
"May each and every one of you, dear readers, find God's love, forgiveness, and hope in your lives. And perhaps nearly as great, may each of you find the courage to follow through on your own convictions.
